The practice of drawing and painting provides me with the opportunity to explore the world in unique ways. This exploration sharpens the eye, improves memory, and refines the imagination, whether it be landscape, still life or portraiture.
My artwork is about people, places and things that have caught my eye for reasons aesthetic and documentary. It addresses time, place, light, form, content and my response through a variety of mediums. In my drawing and painting, I seek to elevate the ordinary by uncovering conditions that largely remain on the periphery of one’s attention. Themes emerge and run their course, always driven by curiosity.
